The Learning Process Coach Curriculum

Helping children grow in confidence by understanding how they learn

At the heart of Amanda’s approach as The Learning Process Coach is one powerful idea: children can learn how to learn- and when they do, they grow in confidence, self-awareness, and resilience for life.

Through playful conversation, storytelling, reflection, and gentle NLP (Neuro-Linguistic Programming) techniques, Amanda helps children understand their learning process in a way that’s fun, friendly, and meaningful. By using simple language and relatable tools, children begin to understand that their brains can grow and change- just like bubblegum! And when things feel tricky, they’re encouraged to say: I can’t do it yet.”

The Process

Rapport & Identity

We begin by creating a safe, trusting relationship where children feel seen, heard, and accepted. Together, we explore who they are as learners, helping them build a strong and positive sense of identity.

“I am more than just my mistakes – I am a learner in progress.”

Understanding & Reframing Limiting Beliefs

Children often say things like “I’m not good at maths” or “I can’t do this.” We uncover and gently challenge these beliefs, replacing them with empowering thoughts that promote growth and resilience.

“What if you just haven’t learned it… yet?”

Developing Understanding of the Learning Process

Children are introduced to key learning concepts in a fun, accessible way. They learn how their brain works, how to focus, what helps them learn best, and what to do when they feel stuck.

“When you know how you learn, you can learn anything.”

Strategies & NLP Techniques
for Emotional Regulation

Using proven NLP methods and childfriendly tools, we explore how emotions
work, and how to manage them. Children learn to notice their feelings, name them, and choose strategies to stay calm, focused, and in control.

“Big feelings don’t have to stop me -1
can work through them.”

Positive Self-Talk

We replace negative internal chatter with kind, encouraging inner voices. Children learn how to speak to themselves the way they’d speak to a friend – with compassion, courage, and curiosity.

Goal Setting and Progress Tracking

Children are supported to set achievable goals that matter to them, learning how to break things down, celebrate small wins, and reflect on progress – building motivation and ownership over their
learning journey.

“Every child deserves the tools to understand themselves, manage their emotions, and grow in confidence.”
